Clevis & Pivot Mounted Cylinders

Clevis & Pivot Mounted Cylinders

1.5” to 12” Bore Series

AIR AND MEDIUM-DUTY HYDRAULIC

Clevis & pivot mounted cylinders are required when a load must move through an arc. Clevis & pivot cylinders may need to be de-rated or used with stop tubes for long stroke applications, especially without a guided load.

Feature

  • Thrust up to 45,000 lbs
  • Urethane rod wiper, with Viton and metallic options
  • Polyurethane rod seal, with Viton option
  • Buna Nitrile end seals
  • Standard Buna-N piston lip seals, with optional T-seal
  • Bronze-filled PTFE wear strip for lip seal pistons, glass-reinforced nylon for T-seal pistons
  • Captured solid 660 bronze bearing
  • Steel head and cap
  • Stress proof 4140 steel tie rods
  • Hard-coated aluminum barrel for air, chrome-ID steel barrel for medium duty hydraulic
  • Optional adjustable cushions

Specifications

  • Bore sizes: 1.5" to 12"
  • Configuration: Single or double rod
  • Rods from 5/8" to 5" diameter
  • Max 250 PSI for air
  • Max 1500 PSI for hydraulic (less for larger bores)
  • Stroke range: Up to 144"

Clevis & Pivot Mounted Cylinders

NFPA STYLE MP1

Fixed Cap Clevis Mount. Allows for changes in cylinder alignment. Forces are absorbed along cylinder centreline. A pivot pin of adequate strength must be used to resist shear load. On long stroke cylinders, oversized rod or stop tube may be required to prevent rod buckling.
